The purpose of LATM’s visit is to exchange experiences with VATM on establishment and implementation of Safety Management System (SMS).

 At the meeting, VATM shared experiences either on the development process from 2012 or its implementation plan of SMS.  According to LATM’s request, VATM agreed to send SMS experts to assist LATM during its SMS implementation in Laos.

Besides, the two sides considered and revised some items in the mutual cooperation program for 2014. Accordingly, three ATC engineers of LATM shall be sent to VATM for exchanging experiences on airspace planning for APP center; LATM shall proceed the implementation of ATS contingency plan in Laos so that the two countries can sign an agreement on ATS contingency plan level 2 in the next coming time.

Prior to the meeting, LATM’s representatives are also warmly welcomed by Mr. Hoang Thanh - Chairman of Members’ Council and Mr. Do Quang Viet – Director General at the courtesy call.  Both sides expressed their wishes to continue to promote cooperation activities and mutual supports to strengthen traditional friendship relations between the two ANSPs in particulars and aviation industry of two countries in general.
