Over 25,000 flights controlled by VATM during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.

During the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, from January 25th 2025 to February 03rd 2025, VATM successfully controlled 25,328 flights, with a total of 3,005 flights on January 25th 2025, which is the peak day during this period.

On the last day of the Tet holiday, major international airports such as Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai and Da Nang welcomed a sharp increase in the number of take-offs and landings. On February 2nd, Tan Son Nhat Airport handled 978 flights, the numbers for Noi Bai Airport and Dan Nang Airport are 570 and 269. 

During the Tet holiday, all ATC units paid high attention to ensuring safe flight operations, in accordance with commands from the Director General and CAAV, as this period has always been the peak time of the year. All ATC units of VATM closely coordinated with relevant stakeholders, proactively coordinated with airlines to closely follow the detailed daily flight plan, and proactively implemented ATFM measures to minimize holding time due to overload at some airports with high flight density.

In addition to ensuring flight operations, VATM also focused on ensuring security and safety at aviation facilities during the Tet holiday. The forces on duty strictly implemented all required works of protection, patrolling, guarding, and maintaining labor discipline, ensuring security and safety at agencies and units.

It is forecasted that in the following days, the number of flights at major airports such as Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat Airports will continue to increase due to the travel needs of people after the Tet holiday. VATM is committed to ensuring safety and stability for flights during the peak period of the new year.
