The cooperation meeting between VATM and LATM

The cooperation meeting was held at the Southern Region Air Traffic Services Company (SORATS)’ office with the participation of 22 representatives from functional departments and units of VATM and LATM in the spirit of mutual understanding & cooperative atmosphere.

During the meeting, both sides discussed related issues and set forth the mutual agreements for cooperation program between LATM and VATM during the years 2015-2016. These include: the maintenance for the existing VSAT systems in Vientiane;one more two-wired hotline between Vientiane and Ha Noi for the new sector of Ha Noi ACC; coordination procedures for air traffic services on B202; surveillance data sharing between Viet Nam and Lao PDR; AIDC and AMHS implementation plans between two sides; exchanging views and experiences on the transition from AIS to AIM, publication of AIP, SIGMET and English level 4 training; feasibility study on sectorization, SMS implementation.

Moreover, both sides will send senior managers/ATC supervisors and controllers to each other for sharing experiences on ATS matters between VATM and LATM at the appropriate time. The leaders of two sides also agreed to organize a cooperation meeting to review the implementation of the 2015-2016 cooperation program and work out the action plan for 2016-2017 in Luangprabang, Lao PDR in October 2016.

At the end of the meeting, Directors General of VATM and LATM signed the Minutes of Meeting (MOM) on tentative cooperation program during the years 2015-2016, that creates a foundation for the implementation of these working contents in the next coming time.

In conclusion, the cooperation meeting between VATM and LATM was conducted successfully with fruitful results, making a contribution to promote the friendship and cooperative relations between two ANSPs in particular and Vietnamese and Laotian people in general.

Representatives of LAO's delegation visit the TSN/TWR 

Taking this occasion, LATM’s delegation had a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Centre (AACC) and the Tan Son Nhat Aerodrome Control Tower (TSN/TWR) at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
