VATM attending the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2016

The CANSO Asia Pacific Conference is an annual conference, organized by the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) Asia Pacific. The Conference if a forum where Air Navigation Services Providers (ANSP) can meet and share experiences obtained during their performance of services provision, as well as discuss challenges and opportunities of ANSPs in the region. The CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2016 with the theme “Shaping Asia Pacific ATM – Global Vision, Regional Action” has received the attendance of 21 delegations from organizations and ANSPs, who are regional members of the CANSO Asia Pacific.

During the Conference, the participants had chance to listen to speakers sharing their opinions and delivering their speeches, of which topics were segmented into three panels: Global Vision – The Future of ATM; ATM Challenges and Opportunities in the Asia Pacific Region – The ANSP and Stakeholders’ Perspectives; Regional Action – Connecting the Dots in the Asia Pacific Region. As one of the speakers, Director General Pham Viet Dung delivered his speech at the Conference with the topic “Measuring capacity to cope with Challenges” in the second panel - “ATM Challenges and Opportunities in the Asia Pacific Region – The ANSP and Stakeholders’ Perspectives”. The presentation has indicated challenges of the regional ANSPs, addressed Viet Nam’s situation and actions and proposed for regional solutions.

Together with the main working agenda of the Conference, there were other side-activities during the Conference, including: meetings of the Asia Pacific Operations Workgroup and the Asia Pacific Safety Workgroup; the joint Safety and Operations Workshop on Human Performance and Fatigue Management; the Safety Management Maturity Workshop and the ASBU and PBN Implementation Workshop; exhibition of equipment and services suppliers of the ATM industry.

Especially, for the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2016, the delegation of VATM was honored to be the delegation of the next host for the Conference - the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2017. After the Closing Remarks, Director General Pham Viet Dung has announced VATM as the host of the next year conference, followed with the demonstration of Ha Noi, Viet Nam - the destination of the next Conference, as well as Viet Nam’s aviation industry and Viet Nam Air Traffic Management Corporation.
