VATM signs contract to procure VCCS system from SITTI

September 11, 2024, Ha Noi, at the Headquarters of Viet Nam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), VATM and SITTI S.p.A, Italy (SITTI) signed the Contract for Package 16 “Supply and installation of VCCS voice communication and control system” under the Project “Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center – ATCC/HCM”.  

The VCCS voice communication and control system is one of the important equipment systems for air traffic control in general and for the Ho Chi Minh City Air Traffic Control Center  in particular. Package 16 "Supply and installation of VCCS voice switching system" is therefore an important equipment procurement package of the ATCC/HCM Project. The package is implemented in the form of international open bidding, 1-stage 2-envelope bidding method, with technical proposals opened on April 3, 2024, and financial proposals opened on July 1, 2024.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, VATM Deputy Director General Ho Sy Tung, on behalf of the Project Owner, said: “When put into operation, the VCCS system of ATCC/HCM will ensure the provision of air navigation services for the Ho Chi Minh Flight Information Region and serve flight operations when Long Thanh International Airport is put into operation”. The Project Owner’s representative also highly appreciated the cooperation of the SITTI Contractor and VATM team for the finalization of the contract. VATM called for further collaboration of the parties to complete the package on schedule and with quality.

SITTI’s representative at the ceremony - Mr. Gianluca Codega, Sales Director expressed his gratitude to VATM for trusting and selecting SITTI as the supplier of VCCS system for Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center - a major project marking an important development milestone of VATM. SITTI representative shared: “With more than 70 years of experience in providing equipment systems in the field of air traffic management, SITTI is confident in providing a solution that contributes to ensuring safe and effective air traffic operations for VATM and the region in general. The VCCS system supplied by SITTI not only meets technical requirements but also has high reliability, meets current operational needs and, moreover, it is scalable to meet future operational needs.”.

The contract worth approximately EUR 1.6 million signed by VATM and SITTI has its performance period of 420 days and warranty period of 12 months. The scope of the contract includes 01 main VCCS system with 80 working positions and 01 backup/training system with 70 working positions. In fact, the existing VCCS system of the Ho Chi Minh Approach and Area Control Center (AACC/HCM) was also supplied by SITTI.
